Stub?[]

I don't think this should be a stub. There's plent of information, and I doubt that there could be anymore to it. What does everyone else think? Jenny Vincent♣ 21:45, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Slash[]

I hate to be a pedant, but 'slashfic' is pretty much universally understood to mean same-sex fiction (typically between two male characters) now. I'd imagine that 10 times out of 10, if you were to tag a fanfiction with 'slash' (contrast with 'het'), readers would know it contained same-sex content. omgneroli! 03:51, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Slashfic also encompasses stuff with main characters (usually Gary and Johnny, judging by the story summaries on FF.net) and MarySue, I think, that's why I worded it the way I did. McJeff (talk this way)/(stalk this way) 14:12, January 19, 2011 (UTC)
The thing is, if you look up definitions for slashfic the general consensus seems to be that it's male/male—even the existence of the phrase 'femslash' (female/female) while there's no male equivalent supports that. The phrase and fanfiction movement first developed with the whole Kirk-slash-Spock thing; the word 'slash' might be used nowadays in some circles to denote any pairing which isn't canonical, but the original sentiment was guy-on-guy and it seems to be widely taken to mean the same. omgneroli! 14:19, January 19, 2011 (UTC)
True enough, and I'd guess about 95% of slashfic out there is m/m. The question then is, do we need to go into detail about what slashfic is for this article? It's really about the nature of Bully Fanfic, not an explanation of slash. I'll however edit what's there to reflect that slash is usually about two dudes. I was going off of your edit, though—you did change the wording to reflect your view that slashfic includes heterosexual pairings. Perhaps it'd be better to phrase it in such a way that the issue of what slash actually entails doesn't come up? Something along the lines of 'Fanfiction detailing same-sex pairings also seems to be very common in the fandom'? omgneroli! 04:12, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
